She woke up from her slumber a bit groggy. She decided to get up and brush her teeth but then the strangest thing happened... She looked in the mirror. She was a black rabbit.
She stared for a long moment, about to speak but then just nodding her head while smirking. Average day for a black rabbit. She couldn't have even been slightly surprised, I mean after all? The universe is a dick.
"Universe, seriously? What happened to our deal?" She asked.
"You asked to be the same size as the rabbit. Your wish was granted. You are welcome." The universe replied.
She stood their for a split second just lost in her own daze.
"Okay... but you said penguin?" She spoke back.
"YOU said penguin. I said what animal would you like the be? Also that I understood, your wish was granted from me." The universe nodded.
"But I said penguin?" She was confused.
"And I am the universe. I heard at the time, black rabbit. And maybe next time, penguin. But time and space? Yea same thing. You wouldn't understand." The universe said nonchalantly.
"Oh here we go, some blah blah blah karma. blah blah blah divine timing." the black rabbit mocked the universe.
"I have not spoken a word of those this time around. Only Time. Time." The universe disappeared back to wherever the universe even comes from.
"You know, people really pray to that thing! They PRAY. God please ! God please! Girl if you could hear how it responses to you back.... detached....almost like a toxic yaoi... where one of them is the detached nonchalant homeboy. Every once in awhile they pull up with romance but for the most part... they act all avoidant or whatever" The black rabbit spoke to itself almost mocking the idea that people have about the universe.
A few days passed by and the black rabbit decides to go visit the white cat but hides itself. She walked away from the white cat and she just didn't know how to accurately approach him. But, she knew she should eventually tell him how she really feels.
So she calls the stripped cat over and the stripped cat helps coach the black rabbit.
"You just gotta focus on your emotional health too, tell him how you feel and let that burden off." the stripped cat tells the rabbit.
"I don't know if I am ready for something like this." The black rabbit responds.
So the black rabbit took the stripped cats advice and went to the white cat to tell him how she felt. This time more honest than she's ever been but then the white cat responses very easily.
"I hope you find someone who feels the same about you" The white cat resposes.
"I hope you find someone too. I will miss you and goodbye." The black rabbit replied.
Almost like she was replying the same converstation she had with her ex when they broke up.
It was incredibly similar... "Well, if you don't want to be with someone like me because marrying me would be a joke, I hope you find what you are looking for" and "yea, I hope you find what your looking for too" she recalls almost exactly.
And she leaves the white cat entirely this time not looking back like the black rabbit has always done. She heads home with tears rushing down her face. And she's just exploding with pain.
She was completely honest and that honesty lost her the white cat. She couldn't blame the white cat, it's reasonable to not want to get invovled with someone who is dealing with what the black rabbit is dealing with. She couldn't blame the universe either because the universe warned her not to tell the white cat about the gray mouse because it was a dead end. So the only reasonable thing she could blame was herself for not suppressing her own feelings.
She went to tell the stripped cat what happened.
"Yea well this would've never happened if I just didn't speak about the gray mouse. It freaks everyone out, the universe is so cruel to me" the black rabbit cried.
"Well, I don't think your weird. does your heart think it's weird?" the stripped cat asked.
"Well.. no I don't but..." The rabbit spoke.
"then who cares what anyone else thinks. You don't think it's weird, I don't think it's weird, and I doubt the gray mouse would think it's weird." The stripped cat then walked away.
