The Writer's Notes

I think it's pretty cool to be able to read a author's thoughts on their own creation/writing. So I am going to add some tidbits on each character in the story and maybe some backstory

𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙈𝙖𝙞𝙣 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙧

The black cat/rabbit/bird/dog -whatever other shape she's been in is clearly the most focused of the character's in this entire series.

My honest opinion on her... is that I think she's kind of naive. Not in a way that is inexperienced but in a way where she's overly upfront when she doesn't need to be. I think to her; she keeps doing the same thing looking for a new outcome as if things will ultimately change. I think it's easy to look at her character and thinks that she immediately runs from her issues but I think it's more like she's running from the inability of being misunderstood. She clearly tries to be understood but it doesn't seem to land for her at all. So I think a part of the main characters issue is that the only thing she wants in the world is to be understood. Yet, she's easily overlooked or she's a bit too intense for the people around her so she softens it. But because she softens it- it creates a cycle in itself. It's kind of like the video of the clown getting ran over - people watch him get ran over and they laugh because they think it's apart of the bit.. however, the clown is actually screaming in pain with no one willing to help them. The main character is similar. I also think she's super hyperviligant and she doesn't trust the people around her. So what's seen as a character who is intrigued by others is actual a character who completely observant/terrified of others. I think she has a big heart though truly but I think accessing it while it's open is incredibly hard because by the time the other person even realizes what the main character is doing- she's already gone.

The frog wizard was based off of a tarot reader I met on a completely random day. She talked to me normally about everything and when she did my readings in particular - she was blunt/direct. I only ever met her once despite going to that tarot shop semi-frequently. I have seen the cashier so many different times, I remember his face entirely. But, when I met her it was the first time. Yet, she just had a really cool demeanour. She pretty much told me that alot of men I attract are narcissistic in nature which isn't surprising because of my own past/family. And she wished me well in my endeavours- didn't really give me much information except for a runes reading but even that was pretty vague too. Oh well.

The stripped cat is clearly one of the closest people to the main character but their backstory is also not mentioned. She was there when the main character got drunk at the pub and they became friends instantly. So ever since that day, they just stuck around eachother. The black cat actually did a reading for them to help with their own relationship issues. So of course, the stripped cat also tries to do the same for the black cat/rabbit when it comes to their issues. A solid friend. Met in person once.

I think this is a character that gets mentioned maybe once during the first story and never again. This character was pretty active in the black cats life when she was putting her head down and focusing on her typewriter. A good friend. The black cat was helping prior to meeting the white cat which is ironic because she told the koala to even quit and it wasn't worth the hastle. Yet, he still was able to get her to walk into a burning house fire with him... makes you think?

He gets mentioned maybe a couple times in the first story. This was the main characters best friend for maybe 6 months? She told him pretty much everything- way too much. They had gotten into a pretty heavy issue when they got drunk drinking on her birthday and then after that: the friendship started crashing fast. The white dog made the black cat feel like they were less than or like... untrustworthy despite the black cat being openly honest with them. Plus, the gray mouse situation freaking them out. Yea; that friendship ended with the black cat getting ghosted after not speaking to them for a couple weeks than communicating that she felt misunderstood... Of course, way too late.

The gray mouse is probably one of the most predominately spoken about character yet, we don't know his intentions. The black cat found this person by complete accident when they were in their depression cave. She actually went out of her way to message this person directly through video and dms because she just had an urge that she needed to speak to this guy. I think in all of the black cat's life this was the person who actually gave the black cat hope. Hope as in - Other people like her exist. I think the black cat was looking incredibly hard to find people who were similar or could maybe understand her and then she found this guy. They are incredibly similar. So similar in fact, that it started creeping the fuck out of her and she was trying to avoid it at all cost. It's one thing to feel entirely alone in the world; it's a completely different feeling when someone is mirroring you. At first, she thought it was sweet like "wow another person who is just like me!" but overtime it became "wait this guy is repeating my exact lingo....word for word...uncommon lingo.....hmm!" I mean I am sure it's very very common to tell people that you spend your time twiddling your dick :| Anyways... I don't think the black rabbit even knows what she wants to do with this guy, he is a whole....thing on his own. She still hasn't just spoken to him?? Nice, black rabbit.

My opinion on him.... hmm well, I think I don't need to add one.

𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙒𝙝𝙞𝙩𝙚 𝘾𝙖𝙩

I think the dynamic between the white cat and the black cat isn't really touched upon at all. Like we get the basics of what was going on, but we don't really get what was going on. Most of the story really focused on the main characters journey of trying to articulate and understand her own feelings. I do think this character is important in its own sense because it gives a very solid view on how the main character can act when she's clearly triggered. But, his character on it's own is more so through the cat's mouth rather than his own actions. I think the white cat is a solid character. I don't think it has much depth because the character itself doesn't give much depth at all. Like it's trying to hide it's own depth which makes the main character confused and probably makes the reader even curious of the cat's intentions. All we really know is that - the main character really cared about them.

𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙒𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙧

I only have one line added in the entire story which was "no black cat, you deserve better." I added that line in particular because it's clear the black cat has a pattern. They can clearly see others, and they can clearly see themselves, but they lose sight of their ownself when it comes to others. So once the dynamic turns personal- they cannot see outside themselves. Which is kind of an issue because there is so much love/beauty around them but once they start bleeding colors with other colors they lose their own.

So the question turns into - who did I write this story for? And to many they probably would assume it's the white cat or the gray mouse. But really, it's to whoever can decipher the entire story and understand the main character. I think I could write an 100 page essay on the black cat but even then- some people just wouldn't understand at all. Even if the words were in their face or even if it was read line by line. I think I just wanted the black cat to be understood.
