the elephant in the room

I witnessed the elephant in the room.
Other's couldn't bare to see.

The elephant in the room was staring at me.
I swore it was too big to ignore.

"Hey! Look! An elephant is in the room!" I pointed out.

But the others looked at me with confusion.
Can they not see the elephant?

"Listen... You aren't suppose to POINT out the elephant." A girl whispered to me.

"But, that elephant is HUGE. It's taking up the entire room!!" I tried to whisper back by my voice was too loud

Again, the others gave me a strange look.
Yet, I am the one confused.

Why are we all pretending that their isn't an elephant in the room?
Why must we be quiet when the sound of it trunk is loud.

I am left with so many more questions about the people around me...
More questions than even an elephant in a room could answer.

Atleast, the elephant would choose to respond back to me.
Unlike the others who are pretending not to see the elephant...
That's right in front of me.
