A Simple Conversation

I spent some time flipping through the channels on the radio.
Same old songs always recycling-
I wondered for a second how much do these artist get paid for having their song repeated for weeks on end.

Who willingly listens to Ed Sheeran if it wasn't being played on the radio.
Whatever, I grab my phone to turn on the bluetooth so I can choose my own desires.

I look over at the driver's seat and He is simply focused on the road.
No thoughts in his head just autopilot driving.

"Do you remember the last concert we went to?" I said while tapping on my screen.

"Yea! Of course I remember that Mother Mother show." He nods not taking his eyes off the road ahead.

"Apparently they just dropped a new song about unicorns, and the make belief. I really enjoyed that at their concert they talked about energy and the impact it has on the universe. 10 years for them to finally gain the recognition that they deserved. A slow burn but a successful one." I started blabbering not realizing that I was randomly clicking on different songs while trying to keep my train of thought.

" Yea, their new album is pretty great. I recently showed my girlfriend and she enjoyed it too. Maybe next time she can come with us, I think she would have a blast" He starts to get ready to turn right.

"Oh yea! I think she would have a good time, after that Silverstein concert where me and her got super drunk- It was a blast. I am so down for that" To which we both started nodding.

I turn on the new album and start humming along to the drumline until we eventually got to our final destination.
